John Gilbert RIEND was born Lawrence Gilbert TUCKWOOD. For some reason, he changed his name to John Gilbert RIEND to name himself after his mother's 3rd husband. His social security application says Jack Gilbert TUCKWOOD and his first child was born Lawrence Gilbert TUCKWOOD, Jr. This child eventually became John Gilbert RIEND, Jr. There is a court document from April 1947 for the name change.
