Townsley
John William Townsley, 75, Paintertown RD2, Irwin, died in Westmoreland Hospital yesterday. The son of the late Robert and Sarah Pardem Townsley was born in April 1888 in Carnegie. A retired bench hand at Westinghouse Air Brake, he was a member of Paintertown Lutheran Church, Paintertown Volunteer Fire Department and FOE 1671 of Irwin. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jones Townsley: 4 daughters, Mrs. Alberta Doughty and Mrs.Nora Lann, Paintertown, Mrs. Fay Lorenz, Grable Manor, and Mrs. Doriene Parker, Jeannette; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert, Shirleyburg, Pa. and Charles, former Irwin chief of police, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Elkins. Visitation will begin at Rodgers Funeral Home, Irwin, at 7 this evening and continued 2-5 and 7-10 PM daily until Wednesday when services will be held at 1 PM. Rev. Edward F Hendrickson will officiate. Burial will be in Irwin Union Cemetery.
