Facts and Events
Name John Thrussell
Gender Male
Marriage 15 Feb 1753 Hitchin, Hertfordshire, Englandto Elizabeth Jeeves

John Thrussell's origins have yet to be established. His first confirmed sighting is on 15th February 1753 when he was married at Hitchin in Hertfordshire to Elizabeth Jeeves. The marriage record describes John as a labourer. John and Elizabeth had a daughter named Elizabeth born just under nine months after their marriage. Elizabeth's baptism also describes John as a labourer. She was followed in 1756 by a daughter named Sarah. Sarah's baptism describes John not as a labourer but as a victualler.

In 1759 John and Elizabeth had a daughter named Ann baptised on 2nd May. Elizabeth died a few weeks later, being buried on 17th June 1759. Baby Ann only outlived her mother by a couple of months, being buried on 18th August 1759.

Four years later, in 1763, John's daughter Sarah also died, aged just seven years old. By this time John was being described as a labourer again. He has yet to be traced after 1763. (There were clearly several people called John Thrussell living in Hitchin around this time, and it has not been possible to established which records relate to this John.)
