3. John 16 THOMPSON was born on 8 Mar 1694 in Tividale North Britain
,Scotland. He died on 5 Feb 1759 in Hanover Co.Va.. He was living in
Hanover Co.Va. Of. He was living in Blackwell's Neck. Mary Todd
descendent,states birth and death, found in Todd papers,at the Duncan
Tavern ,Bourbon Co.Ky.Poss son.He was a merchant at Newcastle,owned a
Plantation at Clover Lea,owned land in Louisa Co.Va.,which later was
involved in a legal fight between the heirs of his children.A descendant
of this family Mrs.Mary Todd recently wrote that there was a couple of
entries in the letter book of Francis Jerdone that tells in 1751 that
Mary Thompson had recently married James Brown,and that John Thompson
had recently married his housekeeper,a very young woman at this
time..The first entry I believe belongs to this family,but the other I
doubt.For one thing 31 years would not have been considered a very young
woman at that time, also there was another John Thompson living here at
this time.John Thompson's Will was preserved as a copy of it had been
introducted in a court action in Louisa Co.Va. before the loss of
Hanover Co.Va.records.Ref: Louisa Co.Va. Deed Bk. B p.165,Va.Migrations

He was married to Anne HOLT. John 16 THOMPSON and Anne HOLT had the
following children:
+17 i. Mary 59 THOMPSON.
18 ii. John 60 THOMPSON was born in 1732. He died in 1736. He was
buried in Clover Lea.
He was married to Kerenhappuch BRAME (daughter of Richin BRAME and
Hannah CHEEDLE). Kerenhappuch BRAME was born on 22 Feb 1720 in
Middlesex Co.Va.. She died after 1759. John 16 THOMPSON and
Kerenhappuch BRAME had the following children:

+20 ii. Joseph 62 THOMPSON.
+21 iii. Elizabeth 63 THOMPSON.
