- Hampshire Co., VA Deed: This Indenture made this Ninth day of March in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty two. Between William Holliday Mercht. of the Borrough of Winchester in the County of Frederick & State of Virginia of the one Part, and John Thomson of the County of Lancaster in the State of Pennsylvania of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Holliday for and in consideration of the sum of Five Shillings current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John Thomson at or before the Sealing and Deliver of these presents (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged), hath granted Bargained and Sold by these presents, doth Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said John Thomson a Tract of Land situate lying and being on the old Weggon-Road and little Cacapon in Hampshire County and bounded as follows [boundaries omitted]... which said Tract was granted by Deed from the Right Honbl. Thomas Lord Fairfax Baron of Cameron Proprietor & to Bryan Bruin bearing date the thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand and Seven Hundred & Sixty Two & conveyed by the said Bryan Bruin & Elizabeth his wife to John Ord Mercht. of the City of Philadelphia by Deeds of Lease & Release and duly recorded in the County Cort of Hampshire as a Reference being thereunto to had may more fully & at large appear & then conveyed by John Gibson & Benjamin Chew assignees of the said John Ord by John Magill their Attorney in Fact by Deed of Lease & Release bearing date the twenty sixty of February in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred & seventy Eight unto the aforesaid William Holliday and duly recorded in the County Court of Hampshire as a reference thereunto had may more fully and at large appear. Also another Tract of land situate lying and being in the County of Hampshire aforesaid in Little Cacapon on both sides thereof below the Waggon road, and bounded as follows. [boundaries omitted].. containing Twenty Six acres, which said Tract was granted by Deed from the aforesaid Propriator &c. to the said Brian Bruin bearing date the Nineteenth day of May in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty four, and Conveyed by the said Bryan Bruin and Elizabeth his Wife to the said John Ord by Deeds of Lease & Release bearing Dates respectively the Twenty Ninth and Thirtieth days of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Seven, and conveyed again unto the aforesaid William Holliday by John Gibson and Benjamin Chew aforesaid Assignees of the said John Ord by John Magill their attorney in Fact, by Deeds of Lease & Release bearing Dates as afore above mentioned, and duly recorded in the County Court, of Hampshire, as reference being thereunto had many more fully and at large appear.,, [portions omitted]. Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of Eleven Hundred Pounds current money of Virginia to the said William Holliday in hand paid by the said John Thomson at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and therefore doth Release acquit and discharge the said John Thomson his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns by these presents, They the said William Holliday and Jane his Wife Have Granted, Bargained, Sold Aliened Released and Confirmed and by these presents Do Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release and Confirm unto the said John Thomson (in his actual possession now being by Virtue of a Bargain & Sale to him thereof made by the said William Holliday for one whole Year by Indenture bearing date the day next before the day of the date of these presents, and by force of the Statute for transferring Uses into possession) and his Heirs, a Tract of Land situate lying and being on the old Waggon road and little Cacapon in Hampshire County and bounded as follows, viz. - Hampshire Co., VA Deed: This Indenture made the twelfth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and ninety four between Caleb Evins and Eve his Wife of the County of Hampshire and Commonwealth of Virginia of the one part and John Thompson of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the sum of Sixty pounds Current money of Virginia to the said Caleb Evans in hand paid by the said John Thompson at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof down release acquit and discharge, the said John Thompson his heirs Exors. and Admors. by these presents the said Caleb Evans and Eve his Wife have granted bargained sold aliened released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargai alien release & confirm unto the said John Thompson and his heirs and Successors forever one certain Tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the North River and adjoining the Lands of Daniel Rodrick and was originally granted to William Thompson and is brounded and cares in its several cours as followeth to wit [boundaries omitted]... Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds current money of Virginia, to the said John Thompson in hand paid by the said Ryanea Powellron at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and thereof doth release, acquit and discharge the said Ryenea Powellson his executors and administrators by these presents, the said John Thompson and Martha his wife have granted, bargained, sold alianed, released and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell alien, release and confirm unto the said Ryenea Powellson and his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the said County of Hampshire and bounded as following to wit. - Hampshire Co., VA Deed: This Indenture made this thirtieth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Between William Duncan senr. of the County of Culpeper by Frederick Duncan his attorney in fact on the one part and John Thompson of the County of Hampshire on the other part Witnesseth that the said William Duncan senr. in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds Lawfull money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John Thompson at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath bargained and sold and by these presents Doth bargain and sell unto the said John Thompson his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of Land being part of a tract or parcel of Land granted by Lord Thomas Fairfax to William Duncan Senr. by patent bearing date March 8th 1799. [boundaries omitted]... supposed to contain two hundred and four acres more or less, situate lying and being in the county of Hampshire with the appurtenances the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, and every part and parcel thereof, To Have and to Hold the said tract or parcel of Land with the tenements and hereditaments and all and singular other the premises herein beforementioned or intended to be bargained and sold unto the said John Thompson.... Witnesseth, that for an in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds current money of Virginia to the said John Thompson in hand paid by the said Frederick Wise, at or before the making and deliver of these presents, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and thereof doth release, acquit and discharge the said Frederick Wise, his heirs, executors and administrators by these presents, the said John Thompson and Ann his wife have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released and confirmed, and by these presents Doth, grant, bargain, sell, alien, release and confirm unto the said Frederick Wise and his heirs, and successor forever, one certain, tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the North River and adjoining the Lands of Samuel Davis and was originally granted to William Thompson and is bounded and ___ in the several corners as followeth to wit.
