Mr. Jewell's 26 Dec 2002 email states that a 1941 Green County,KY Circuit Court lawsuit (#3013) settled the estate of "John W. Thomas", and listed "Zanie (Lusanna nee Thomas) RISEN as a sister, along with husband Emmet Risen; address Bloomington, McClean Co., Illinois.

There is a John W. Thomas listed in the 1880 census for LaRue County, Kentucky, Edlin District (T9, Roll 427, page 203). The age in the census (13 years) is correct if this John W. is the same as my John W., but I still cannot be sure it is the same guy. He is listed as "brother" in a household with what looks like Nannie (sp?) Hughes (age 34?) and children Emry M. (age 13), Oliver (age 9) and Minnie B. (age 7).
