Will of John Thomas
- John Thomas Sr's Will.
- I, John Thomas of CC, am weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory.
- Firstly, I want all my just debts paid.
- To my grandson John Bruce, and son of my son Nathan, and the child which my son William's wife Elizabeth is now great with - to be equally divided between them, all my land lying on the NW side of the main road from the lower end of a tract of land called the Ware, and up to the main Road to where a gate formerly stood, near the foot of a hill and from thence to the east side of a spring called the white Marsh spring where a large poplar formerly stood, from thence to a white oak, being a boundary of the afd tract, thence to a tree of sd tract, lately killed by lightning. If any of the afd grandchildren dies without issue of their body lawfully begotten, the survivors to possess the whole.
- To my sd grandson John Bruce - 1 Negro girl called Lett and her increase.
- To my wife Mary - the rest of my lands.

- Probated on Feb 9, 1789 by the oaths of John Beavin & John Billingsley, two of the witnesses.
- From the best information, John Thomas, the heir at law, is a resident of the state of Pennsylvania & was not present when the above probate was taken.
- To Mr. John Muschett, Regr of Wills - my son William Wilson Thomas waits on you with my late husband, John Thomas' will, which will I stand to.
