    Thu., Nov. 23 (4-2): Col. John Darwin Strother, resident of Waco for many years, died yesterday at the county poor farm, where he was the superintendent. Probably a native of Virginia. Age about 75. Funeral today, St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

    John Dargan married Miss Pope and had three daughters and one son (killed in one of the battles in the West.) After his wife's death, he married Miss Kate Dunovant of Chester. After a few years moved to Louisiana, then later to Texas. Died in Waco.
