(37) John Adam Stoever (John Casper, John Caspar, Johann Kaspar, Dietrich), second son and sixth child born to John Casper and Anna Maria Barbara (Nagel) Stoever, was born 29 May 1767 in what is now Bethel Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.

He was baptized by his grandfather, the Reverend John Caspar Stoever, 31 May 1767 at Bethel. Johann Adam Stoever, his uncle, was his sponsor.42

Adam was married in Pennsylvania, probably about 1788, to Veronica "Fanny/Fronia/Francy" Dups/Dubbs (b. 6 Jan. 1760/1763 Pa.; d. 15 July 1851/1854 Preble Co., Oh., age 91-6-9), 43 daughter of Hans/John and Barbara Dups/Dubbs.44

Adam Stoever/Stiver/Staver died 25 August 1851 in Lanier Township, Preble County, Ohio. Both he and his wife, Veronica, are buried in the Stiver/Staver Cemetery, located off County Line Road, Jackson Township, Montgomery County, Ohio.45

Following his marriage, Adam took up residence near members of his wife's family and it is there that we find him when the first census of the United States was taken in 1790. Recorded as the head of the household, aged sixteen and up, he was listed as a resident of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, under the name Adam Stei,er. Listed in the household with him were one male under the age of sixteen and one female - no doubt his wife and perhaps their first child. Nearby was John Dubes.40

There is lots of information on all generations in this book Adams children
