OBITUARY John P. Sonney, who has lived at Orondo for many years, and a well known citizen of that community, passed away last Monday evening. He was a man who was held in high esteem by those who knew him and the large concourse of friends and neighbors who attended the funeral was a tribute to his memory.

John Perry Sonny was born August 20, 1857 in Denmark. At the age of 12 he came to Quebec, Canada, later moving to the United States. On January 26, 1887, he was united in marriage to Carrie Dunaway at O'Neil, Nebraska and to this union four children were born: Mrs. Lena Trapp, Mrs. Emma Chandler, Clarence Sonney and Ruth Sonney, all of Orondo. In February 1900 he moved to Orondo which has since been his home. His wife preceded him in death August 2, 1911. [Edit Bio]
