    John Sells married Cynthia Davis and apparently had about 15 to 20 children, most of whom died young. They emigrated from Ohio to Rush County, Indiana in 1830, settling in the woods some miles west of Rushville. John Sells was a blacksmith and a gunsmith - Obituary of Benjamin Sells, May 7, 1923, Tipton County Newspaper.In 1832/33 a cholera epidemic took the lives of several of John Sells children; and in 1855/57 another epidemic took the lives of several more children and the father.
