From the book "The Ancestors and Descendants of John Weyandt of Harrison county, Ohio" written by Eric E. Johnson in January 2001:

John served in the Revolutionary War in Captain Daniel Clapsadle's Company of the 1st Battalion of the Washington County, Maryland militia. He was a private in the 8th Class. His brother Peter is listed in the 7th Class. John is also listed in Captain James Smith's Company, 2nd Battalion of the Washington County militia. He is a member of the 8th Class. It appears that he served in two enlistments. His future brother-in-law, John Dull, was the fourth corporal for the 1st Battalion.
