1901 Census London Dist 86, Subd c-6, pg 6, ln 32 hh 60/60 425 South street. John Prodger living with wife Johanna and son John b 14 july 1870. John sr. listed as church of england and a labourer for GTR. Even though he is 81 the census lists full time work and income. John jr. is listed as boiler maker John sr. identified as emigrating from england 1842. HMS Resistance was troop ship used by 23rd foot (welch fusiliers) to bring over reserve battalion. Left Portsmouth 12th May 1842 and arrived Quebec city 25th June, Montreal 30th June, and Kingston 6th July. John Prodger may habe been on this ship. This leaves in question how he met Johanna Aspel near Quebec city and the two moved to Upper Canada (London).
