- ↑ "John Powell, aged about 45 years, died of heart failure in Dr. J. F.Kaylor's office, shortly before two o'clock Saturday afternoon. All hadgone to the office about 10 minutes before two have an injured foottreated. According to Dr. Kaylor, Powell complained that he felt badly."I did not think there was anything seriously wrong with him," said thephysician, "but after he came into my office he sank into a chair andsaid, ̕I'm awfully sick. There seems to be something in my throat thatwon't go down.́ I saw then that he was very sick and was going to die."Dr. Zinninger was called by Kaylor, but the two physicians could donothing to revive him. He died in a few minutes. Both Dr. Kaylor andDr. Zinninger said death was due to heart disease. Powell resided withCharles W. Isler, at 35 North Cherry Street, for the past two years, andwas employed as a foreman at the Berger company nothing is known thathis family connections except that his wife is dead, and that he has amarried daughter living at Grand Rapids, Michigan. Efforts were made toget in communication with her during the afternoon. Corner Harry A.March viewed the body and Dr. Kaylor's office. The body was taken toSeesholtzś morgue. Powell was a member of several lodges."
