    'Samuel,John,Alexander,Esther,Mary & Giles, children of Mary,w.of Samuel,bp.June 24,1711'

This same list of children is indexed under each of the children's names, with the order the same each time with the exception of the child whose name is being indexed (e.g., Esther,Samuel,John,Alexander,Mary & Giles). In all cases, except for the indexing of John and Alexander, the first 3 children listed are Samuel, John, Alexander, in that order. It is assumed, therefore, that Samuel was the eldest, followed by John, then Alexander.

Between a page of entries dated mostly 1685 and entries dated between 1697 and 1703 (mostly 1701 to 1703), there is a note: Three leaves gone here. These 3 leaves probably contained the birth records of Samuel, John, and Alexander.

  3. John Oviatt, in Find A Grave.

    Inscription on his tombstone:
John Oviat died July 17 1748 in ye 47 year of his age

Assuming this meant he was 46 when he died (47th year of his life), it would put his birth year between 1701 and 1702. However, the baptism record implies he was older than Alexander, so he was likely born a couple of years earlier than that (based on Esther's birth date).

  4. Birth year estimated based on birth year of Esther, the order of children assumed from the record of their baptism, and the fact that records are missing from the Milford Vital Records from about 1685 to about 1701.
