In the 1860 census for Bourneville, Ross Co., Ohio, John Morris is 35, boot & shoe maker; Nancy is 29; the children are Julia 12; Thomas 9; Elizabeth 8; Jane 6; Zimroy 4; John 9 months; and [sister-in-law?] Maria McMillan (20?), seamstress -- all born Ohio. {p. 321} In the 1870 census for Oak Grove, Benton Co., Indiana, John Morris is 45 farmer from Ohio; Nancy 40; Thomas 19; Elizabeth 18; Zimroy 13; John 12; William 10; Lafayette 7 -- all born Ohio -- Elmore 4; and Wilbur 1 -- both born Indiana. In the 1900 census for Bolivar, Benton Co., Indiana, John Morris is a widower, age 75, born Mar. 1825 in Ohio (parents Virginia), receiving pension; Maria E[lizabeth?], daughter, is single, age 47, born Sept 1852 in Ohio (parents Ohio); and son Wilber G. is single, age 31, born May 1869 in Indiana, 'Tele[graph?] operator'. {ED 1, p. 9b; available online} In the 1910 census for Bolivar, Benton Co., Indiana, Maria E. Morris is 57 single; with brother (Zim?) 54 widowed, 'pumper - RR pump house' -- both born OH (parents OH). According to a WorldConnect database, the obituary for John Dennison Morris, dated 1939, reads in part, "Born in Ross county, Ohio, most of his life was spent in Benton county...Surviving are...four brothers, F.X. Morris, Lafayette; Lafe Morris, Tyner, Ind.; William Morris, Los Angeles; and Elmer Morris, whereabouts unknown; with a sister, Miss Elizabeth Morris, Swanington."
