Facts and Events
John Thomas Moles was born in 1860 at Hitchin in Hertfordshire, the first child of a straw plaiter and midwife called Fanny Moles, formerly Worbey, and her husband Thomas Moles, a mole and rat catcher and agricultural labourer. John Thomas was baptised at Hitchin on 9th November 1860, less than six weeks after his parents' marriage.
He appears in the 1861 census with his parents, who were living next door to his maternal grandfather at The Riddy in Hitchin. Sadly John Thomas died when he was only six months old, being buried at Hitchin on 27th May 1861.
