Eliza Moles was baptised on 31st October 1862 at Hitchin in Hertfordshire, daughter of a midwife named Fanny Moles, formerly Worbey, and her husband Thomas Moles, a mole and rat catcher. Eliza was Thomas and Fanny's second child, although their first child had died before Eliza was born. Sadly, Eliza also died as a baby, being buried at Hitchin Cemetery on 11th May 1863.
