In 1891 John McLean Masterton (1866, Scotland, no occ.) and 2 servants were at 3 Temple Gdns, St. Clement Danes, Westminster, London (census); ancestry.com gives the name John M Lean Masterton (b. 1856). In 1901 John MacLean Masterton was living at “Sunny Lawn”, Branksome, Dorset, married and working as an active journalist (census, ancestry.com); censusonline claims he was a retired journalist.
