Watkin, Tonga, d. 1925 (Queenslander); his father, Rev. James Watkin, who had been a missionary in Tonga in 1830, d. 1886 (Queanbeyan Age newspaper). Jabez Bunting Watkin (b. abt 1837, Lifuka, Ha’aapai) was president of Free Church of Tonga (maxwellinstitute.byu.edu).

In 1891 John McLean Masterton (1866, Scotland, no occ.) and 2 servants were at 3 Temple Gdns, St. Clement Danes, Westminster, London (census); ancestry.com gives the name John M Lean Masterton (b. 1856). In 1901 John MacLean Masterton was living at “Sunny Lawn”, Branksome, Dorset, married and working as an active journalist (census, ancestry.com); censusonline claims he was a retired journalist.
