    "William & Mary Quarterly," Volume 10, Series 2, pgs. 318-321.
    Will of John Martin of Goochland County, Virginia, gave 15 April 1787 as the date of probate and read, in part, as follows: "...and to my daughter, MARY VAUGHN, 1/3 part of said estate...also two beds and furniture now at Mr. MATTHEW VAUGHN's and what other things there...I constitute and appoint my son Hudson Martin and my son-in-law Mr. MATTHEW VAUGHN, executors." MATTHEW VAUGHN was described as "an officer in the Revolution."
