In 1871 Peatmoss had 3 rooms with windows. In 1896 he bought Aultririe (Peatmoss) from the Sutherland Estate -for the price of a foal according to the story passed on by Dina Gunn. But it was owned by Andrew Mackay, Golspie. He died of senile decay.
