!BIOGRAPHY: Leggett - John 1892-1961 married Grace McBride 1887-1971. He promised her he would quit drinking but he never did. He was very pleasant and ambitious between binges. An unhappy memory I have [Laura Cassedy Bitter] is of Dad and Mom and Laura and Eleanor and Aunt Grace going to Mechanicville to find him, his car keys, money etc. Aunt Grace and/or Spencer would go into the bar and grill to locate him. They never had any children. Aunt Grace milked the cows a good many times by herself.

They bought the farm in 1930 from William VanNess and in 1960 the farm was "sold" to David & Eleanor Leggett.
