    Jack V. Laughner, age 91, passed away Tuesday evening at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehab Center in Clearfield, PA. He was formally of Mt. Chestnut.

    He was born May 26, 1918 and was the son of John and Buena Grossman Laughner.

    He retired as a machinist from Castle Rubber after 35 years.

    He served his community by serving many years on the Slippery Rock Area School District School Board and serving 26 years as a Franklin Township Supervisor.

    Mr. Laughner was active at the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, and he was on the building committee where he helped design the present church.

    He was an Army/Air Force WWII Veteran.

    He is survived by two sons: Edward Laughner of Akron, Ohio; Richard P. (Esta Mae) Laughner of Butler; one daughter: Mrs. Larry (Margaret) Martz of Port Matilda, PA. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Emily and Allison Martz, Jamie and Jesse Laughner, and a number of nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Jerry Laughner, who passed away June 25, 2000, one brother, and one sister.
