Edward J. Laughner, 70, of Philipsburg, PA, formerly of Akron, Ohio, and in his younger years of the village of Mount Chestnut, passed away Friday after a long illness.
Born Nov. 11, 1946, in Butler, he was the son of the late Jack V. and Helen Jerry Laughner.
He was Presbyterian by faith.
Ed was a 1964 graduate of Slippery Rock High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Youngstown University and his master's degrees from Ohio State University and Kent State University. He was a faculty emeritus of the University of Akron.
He is survived by his siblings; his niece; and his nephew.
LAUGHNER - The family of Edward J. Laughner, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2017, is planning a memorial service later with interment at Mount Chestnut Cemetery.
