Lived at Tyler/Wetzel Co., West Virginia from 1830 Census First wife is listed as Ellen with Henry as one of their children. There is a Henry Lancaster in the 1830 Census who is listed with his wife in the 60-70 aage group in Tyler Co. that we think is John's father and Henry's (1825) grandfather.

In 1840 Census males 0-5 (2), Males 5-10 (3), 10-15, (1), 30-40 (1), Females 5-10, (1). 15-20. (1), 30-40, (1). The two daughters listed here did not seem to appear on a later census even with new wife that was present before the 1850 census.

In the 1880 Census he lists his birthdate as 1795 and his birthplace as Virginia. Pennsylvania was noted as birthplace in earlier census.
