Wetzel Co., WV History 1983 - pp 149 & 150 By Bertha Lancaster Ice w/o Clarence JOHN LANCASTER My parents were John and Mary Jane Bunting Lancaster. Mother was the dau. of William and Claressa Miller Bunting. Grandfather David lived at Rosbys Rock when Dad was born, Jan 11, 1858. When Dad was 18 months old, Grandpa moved to Silver Hill in Wetzel Co., which was then a part of Virginia. The day my Dad was 6 yrs old Grandpa went to fight in the Civil War. Etc..... When my Dad was 18 yrs. old Grandpa moved to Brush Run near Reader. At that time it was just a post office and three families that lived there. Etc.... My parents were married Jan 1, 1883. We lived on Eight Mile Ridge on part of Grandpa's farm in a log cabin. I was the 8th child of a family of ten. Etc..... All of my family is deceased except my younger sister, Pearl Martin who lives in Miami, Florida. She is 80 yrs. old. Etc.....
