 John was a soldier in the war of 1812 - Was at Fort George.  Was 1st Corporal of the 8th Company, 16th Regiment.  Was wonded at the 40 Mile Creek, Canada in the beginning of June 1813.  He was shot in the legs and taken prisoner.  The wound was by a musket ball cutting away part of the bone below the knee. (see KFH for full story on page 9).
