I believe that this John's parents were William Kite and Elizabeth Grimsley because: 1. The 1820 Census of Boone County shows that William Kite has two sons between 16 and 26. John would be

22 in 1820. The other son should be William, Jr.

2. John B. Grimsley is a bondsman at the wedding of John Kite and Margaret Miller. 3. There is a William Grimsley living with Margaret Kite and her daughter's family in 1880 Census.

1840 Census shows John and wife having one male under 5 (Thomas), one female 5-9, 3 females 10-14, and one female 15-19. I believe that the one female 15-19 in the 1840 Census was someone living with the family to help with the children. 1830 Census shows John and wife having three females under 5.

John was probably born in Hawkins County, TN.
