    John was the son of John & Rebecca Rose Kirk. In 1804, he married Eva Nosler. They were the parents of 9 children-Alexander, Jonathan, Hiram, Elizabeth, Nancy, Alfred, Calvin, Mary, and John Marshall.

    John left Eva for another woman, Margaret Trinkle, and she applied for the divorce on the grounds of adultry in 1836 in Owen Co, IN. This was 7 years after he allegedly 'married' Margaret.

    On 1 December 1829, John 'married' Margaret Trinkle. They were the parents of 7 children-Rebecca, Stephen Rudolphus, Eliza Jane (Stark), Hannah, Sarah Elizabeth, John Riley, and Amanda (Bilyeu).
