    Son of John and Eva (Nosler) Kirk.

    Alexander Kirk was a pioneer of 1846. Operated the first ferry across the Calapooya River at Brownsville, Oregon, until a bridge was built. Also had a blacksmith shop.

    Married twice. Father of William Riley, Mary Ann "Polly", Henry Harrison, Mary, Thomas Jefferson, Elizabeth, Orpha, Catherine, Hiram Leander "Lee", Amanda Ellen, Francis Marion, and James Kirk (with Sarah Sweeten), and Maria (with second wife, Maria Boswell).

    Originally interred in Kees Cem or Blue Mountain Cemetery, Athena, Umatilla Co OR but moved to Athena Cemetery, Umatilla Co in 1990.
