He owned ten slaves. [Ref, slave schedule] In 1870 John and his wife Rosa M. lived in District 3, Montgomery, Maryland with their family. John was a farmer with real estate worth $16,360 and a personal estate of $6,130. John's sister Elizabeth lived with him. In 1880 John and Rosa lived in Medley with their family. John was a farmer. John built the existing late Federal style farm house on "Eleven Brothers" in 1866. John and Rose are buried in the Monocacy Cemetery. |
