Mr. John Jones died at his home in Hanover, Ind., at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, in the 77th year of his age. He had been a prolonged invalid and sufferer from consumption, and his death had been expected for the past three years. He was born in Boutitot county, Virginia, Dec. 25th, 1810. Came to Jefferson county forty-two years ago and settled on a farm near Hanover, which he still owns, but has maintained a residence in Hanover for thirty years past. His wife survives him. They had lived in blessed wedlock fifty-five years. The result of this holy bond on union was nine children, five of whom are now living, as follows: James S., Lin C., John H., Mary and Mrs. Jane Renfrow. He was a carpenter by trade, and worked several years at that business. He was a quiet and good citizen. The remains will be buried tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock at Hanover Cemetery.
