Facts and Events
According to Bob Mitchell: Some of this family moved on to Missouri in the 1870's. Note concerning Johnsonville from Bob Mitchell: "Johnsonville was the largest town in Humphreys County before the war. It served as one of the main logistics ports for the U. S. Army during the Civil War. The town was burned to the ground during the war by the troops of GEN Nathan Bedford Forrest. The town that grew out of the ashes was renamed New Johnsonville and is known by that name today." 1880 Census District 2, Humphreys Co., Tennessee Jackson, Kay W M 45 head M Farmer TN TN TN Jackson, Mary W F 40 wife M keeping hs TN TN TN Jackson, Vaughn W M 13 son S farm labor TN TN TN Jackson, Lonnie W M 11 son S farm labor TN TN TN Jackson, Vinne W M 9 son S TN TN TN Jackson, Laura W F 6 dau S TN TN TN Jackson, Earl W M 5 son S TN TN TN Carter, Bud W M 22 laborer S TN TN TN 1900 Census Civil District 2, Humphreys Co., Tennessee Jackson, J.
