Soldier in the Mexican war according to memoirs of Otto - likely was his son (Otto's half brother, John Houser Jr)

In Germany he was listed in per Burgerbuch der Verbandsgemeinde Hochspeyer 1650-1850 as being a Lienenweber (linen weaver) like his father before him in Fischbach.
