In 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900 & 1910 he was a carpenter.

In 1860 he was living with Charles Strouse, father-in-law of his future wife's sister. In 1870, after the death of his wife, S., Elizabeth and William Knafunburger are living with him and his son, Charles. His son James is living with his Bury grandparents. In 1880 his second wife, their two children are living next to his deceased wife's sister, Carolyn Strouse. In 1900 & 1910 he was living next to his son, Charles.

Obituary

JOHN M HOOVER -- John M. Hoover died at the family residence, 921 Parkview avenue, at advance age 2:45 a.m. Monday of infirmities of advance age.

   Mr. Hoover, who was born March 24, 1838, was a native of Youngstown township and spent his entire life in this community.  He belonged to St. Paul's Reformed church and was well known by members of that congregation.  He twice married, first on Oct. 5, 1862, Lovina Bury, who died five years later.  Oct. 17, 1872 he married Lucy L. Fultz, who survives.  Besides his wife he leaves six children, Charles D.,  Mrs. Cora D. Wood, Roy Earl Hoover, Youngstown;  James O., Austintown;  Mrs. Eva May Traut, Springfield, and Mrs. Ella Hoover, Cleveland.  There are also 15 grandchildren, a halfbrother, Elias Sechler, Ravenna, and a halfsister, Mrs. Henry Hoymoyer, Lordstown.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
