From the Monona (IA) Billboard John Holly Dies At Cedar Rapids John J. Holly, 41, of 435 Eighth avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, died Monday night, July 12, at the Veterans Administration hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness. He was born at Prairie du Chien Nov. 18, 1929, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Holly. He moved with his parents from Prairie du Chien to Monona, living here for many years, when the family moved to Milwaukee, Wis. From there they moved to Cedar Rapids, where he was a resident for the last 25 years. He was an employee of Wholesale Feeds Inc., of Cedar Rapids. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Preceding him in death were his father. _________________________
John J. Holly John J. Holly, 41, of 435 Eighth avenue SW, died Monday evening at the VA hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness. A Cedar Rapids resident for 25 years, he was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Prairie du Chien, Wis. An employee of Wholesale Feeds Inc., he was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Florence Holly of Cedar Rapids, and four sisters, Mrs. Orlando Fascher of Farmersburg, Mrs. Harlan Martens of Marion and Mrs. Charles Edaburn jr. and Mrs. Emmett Anderson, both of Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: Turner chapel east at 10:30 am Thursday by the Rev. Carroll Van Anda of Valley View Baptist church. Graveside services: Monona at 1 pm Thursday.
