MILITARY SERVICE: Enlisted as a teenager as a soldier in the American Revolution and fought from the battle of Brandywine in 1777 to the surrender at Yorktown in 1781, eventually attaining the rank of Captain.

RESIDENCE: By 1784 was in Shepherdstown, Berkeley (now Jefferson), WV. His will says that his dwelling house, shops and lots were on Washington Street.

BURIAL: Reformed Church Cemetery in Shepherdstown, Jefferson, WV
