    John R. Hatfield, a former Lawrence County resident, died 10:30 p.m. Sunday at his residence, 1801 Blair Blvd., Nashville, TN. He was a WWII veteran.

    Born to Joel and Laura A. Fields Hatfield on January 21, 1912, in Lawrence County, he is survived by his wife, Versie, of Nashville; his mother, Mrs. Laura Hatfield of Route 15, Bedford; two sons and two daughters; three brothers, Vestal, Vaughn and Harland Hatfield, all of Bedford; two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Leona) Clampitt and Mrs. Layne (Lois) Sowders, both of Bedford, and several grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by members of Gillen Post 33, American Legion.
