"Arrived in New York City; went by rail as far as the lakes; took a boat to Toledo, Ohio; and from there followed the route of the old Wabash and Erie Canal, until they arrived within the borders of Wabash County."

The tombstone image below may NOT be of him! There is a discrepancy of 2 years, and no indication of any of the family being buried in the Matlock Cemetery. However, when he first settled in Wabash County, he settled 4 miles southeast of Wabash city, which was near the Matlock Cemetery.
