Facts and Events
A John Gumb, along with William Gumb, Lyida Gumb and Mahaleah Gumb were early members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Nova Scotia. Probably this John Gumb was a member when a branch of the church was organized on the 18th of March 1843. A John Gumb, probably this one, was the clerk to the Branch President. Most of the Gumb and Turple's, while among the early members, left or were cut off from the church prior to when the branch was disolved in 12 May 1855, when 50 members of the Halifax branch emigrated to Utah under the direction of John A. Jost. |
