!1.Source:: A Book of Garretts by Hester Elizabeth Garrett lists several sources: Amelia Co. Virginia Bk. 1A p.2--date will was probated; will written 15 Feb. 1742. PARENTAGE OF THIS JOHN GARRETT IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY PROVEN TO SATISFY THE COMPILER OF THE GARRETT BOOK, SO THE REST OF THE PEDIGREE CHART FOR HIM MAY OR MAY NOT BE RIGHT. HOWEVER, I WILL PROCEED TO ENTER IT AND PUT A QUESTION MARK AFTER THE NAMES. 2.Church records Bristol Parish Thomas was given as him being born Dec. 6 with no year. It was ordered by the Church Wardens that inSep. 1846 that Abraham and Thomas, orphans of John Garrett deceased be bound out. Order Book 2 Page 21. (The two boys were about 16 years of age when this tookplace. p.202 Garrett Book by Hester Garrett) Charles was not listed on the Church records, but he was mentioned as a son of John and Susannah. HE MAY NOT LISTED BE IN THE CORRECT BIRTH ORDER. 3.Susannah Burton Garrett, wife of John Garrett married secondly John Clifton. There were court litigations with family members and others. She was still alive in 1751. 4.Susannah Burton Garrett was listed in her father's will--Abraham Burton in 1736; Will Book 1 Amelia County, Virginia---proof of her being his daughter and married John Garrett 5.SUSANNAH Burton Garrett Clifton in Anne Burton's will 22 Dec 1745, so she had married secondly by that date. 6.Some records indicate that daughter Ann Garrett md. John Burton, a relative
