He was BORN 10/21/1921 in Milam Co., son of M/M. John Albert Garner, Sr. He graduated from Rockdale High School in 1939 and joined the Navy the same year. He served 20 years and following his discharge in 1959 lived in Houston several years before returning to Rockdale. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and had been living in Rockdale for the past 3 months.

SURVIVORS: Son, John A. Garner, III, of New York; 2 daughters, Emily Garner and Brenda Garner, both of New York; brother, Millard Garner of Houston; sister, Mrs. Chas. S. (Doris) Dockall of Rockdale; a grandchild. SS Death Benefit on #467-18-5225.
