Chapter on the presidency of Dr. John Samuel Flory who was president of the college from 1910-1919. Founders Hall, established in 1903, was renamed Flory Hall in 1984 and carries the name as of the writing of this book. This man was an English language and literature professor. This man was the son of Daniel and Susannah Wampler Flory. This man lived from 1866-1961. He was a strong supporter of Church of the Brethren. He married twice: Nannie Coppock, Vinnie Mikesell.

microfilm available to browse on familysearch.org Will book A, 1803-1863 does NOT have John Flory. Jacob Flory is on page 108 of will book A. Jacob's will is dated 14 February 1842. He names his wife, Catherine and at least 9 children. Some parts of this will appear to be missing and has been transcribed with --- indicating missing words. The children are: Solomon, Joel, John, Michael, David, Ann, Sarah, Lydia, and Mary. There may have been more children named in the missing part of the will. Soloman Garber is named executor. Witnesses are Daniel Cline and Samuel Coffman.
