John Farley, son of William, Sr. and Martha (Stewart) Farley, was born about 1730, died about 1766, married Sarah (?). His will was made 31 March, 1764, and proven 25 September, 1766. He was a young man leaving his wife, Sarah, and father, William Farley, Sr., executors. Will of John Farley: Amelia County, Virginia, Will Book 3, page 247. The Will of John Farley, son of William and Martha Maed: 31 March 1764 Proven: 25 September 1766. In the name of god Amen. I, John Farley, of Amelia County, being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks to God, therefore calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, Do make this my last Will and Testament, that is to say first and principally of all, I give my Soul into the hands of God who at first Gave it Not doubting but I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and my body to the Earth to Be Buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named And as for such Earthly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life my Just Debts and Funeral Charges being first Paid, I Give and Dispose of the manner and form following . . . Item, I Give and bequeath to my four Sons, John, William, Jeremia and Stephen that Track of Land Whereon I now live to be Equally Divided Between them to them and their Heirs forever. Item I lend to my Beloved and Lawful Wife Sarah Farley the land and plantation with my whole Estate both real and personal be if of what kind nature or quality soever during her Natural Life and at her Decease my Goods and Chattels to be equally Divided Between my five Children John, William, Jeremiah, Stephen, and Sarah Farley to them and their heirs forever. I appoint my beloved and Lawful Wife Sarah Farley and William Farley Sen. Whole and Sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all other Will or Wills as heretofor made Apoint this to be my Last Will. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this thirty first day of March one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty four.
