    John2 Ensign was born in Scituate, Massachusetts, say 1642, based upon his being co-executor of his father's will in 1663 but young enough to have had a guardian in 1658. He was killed at Rehoboth, Massachusetts, on 26 March 1676 during King Philip's War, and is included among the slain from Scituate in the Rev. Noah Newman's letter of 27 1st month [March] 1676, relating "what yesterday Happ[ened] to the great sadning of all our hearts.…
