John was the third in age of the four brothers that came to the Twin Valley, but as his grave is unmarked, the writer has hot been able to ascertain either the date of his birth or of his death. (John Emerick is said to have been born August 24, 1762, and died September 2,1845.) He survived the rest of his family, was never married, and always lived in Christopher's family. He had all the eccentricities usually ascribed to bachelors, jovial, fond of company, and the friend to everybody. He helped to build the first Lutheran Church, and was an active and lifelong member of the congregation.
