I am a resident of Germantown, Ohio and find this little burg and it's former occupants interesting. This area was inhabited by squatters before Ohio became a state. Philip Gunckel and a scouting party came from Berks Co., Pennsylvania, in 1803, to find a place to start a new life. After seeing the Twin Valley they returned to Pennsylvania gathered their families, belongings and relocated here in 1804. Germantown has stayed a small community and has a rich history.
