In his father-in-law (William H. Jackson's) obit his name is listed as Hayes Duncan. To me (Janie) this would indicate that he normally was called by his middle name. In his wife's obit his name is given as John Hayes Duncan. Darrell has found record of his name spelled John Haze Duncan. I have not seen original documents.
