Donovan, Capt. John T.

Age 43, died Monday, May 28, 1973, at the residence. Mr. Donovan was a resident of Lansing all his life. He was a member of the Fire Fighters Local and Upper Silver Lake Improvement Ass'n and was employed by the Lansing Fire Department for the past 22 years. Surviving are the wife, Marjorie A., two sons, John J. and Patrick M., both of Lansing; and one daughter, Mrs. Terrance (Victoria) Lawless of Portland; one brother, Bishop Paul V. Donovan, bishop of the Kalamazoo Diocese; five sisters, Mrs. Helen McCarthy of Dubuque, Ia., Mrs. Rita McCarthy of Bernard, Ia., Mrs. Bernadine Clinton of Grand Rapids, Sister Maureen Donovan SC of Bay City, and Mrs. Maureen Curtiss of Lansing; aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with interment in Hart, Michigan.


Fireman's Rites Set For Friday

Services for Capt. John T. Donovan, 43, will be at 10 am Friday in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. The 22 year Lansing fireman died of a heart attack in his home Monday.

A Lansing resident all his life, Capt. Donovan lived at 714 Spokane. He was a member of the Fighters Local 421 and the Upper Silver Lake Improvement Association.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; two sons, John and Patrick, both of Lansing; a daughter, Mrs. Terrance Lawless of Portland; a brother, the Most Rev. Paul V. Donovan, bishop of the Kalamazoo Diocese; and five sisters, Mrs. Helen McCarthy of Dubuque, Iowa, Mrs. Rita McCarthy of Bernard, Iowa, Mrs. Bernadine Clinton of Grand Rapids, Sister Maureen Donovan of Bay City and Mrs. Maureen Curtis of Lansing.
