John's father purchased another farm near Greigsville, NY,where they went to live, and remained during their life time. Thissection was covered with varied timber and when cleared was veryproductive, especially in wheat. They were good managers so this wasanother thrifty Donnan home, and a good neighbor. They educated theirchildren also in the home school, a good one perhaps holding to the threeR's, but there was much good horse sense instilled into their minds. Thiswas another pleasant place to drop in for a call or a stay. They bothdied the same year; this left two vacant chairs in the home and a greatloss to each of the family. John died on March 4, 1886 and Mary April 3, interment was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, York. NY. http://www.clis.com/donnan/sl02.txt
